Troop 997 Facts and Figures

Our current membership stands at over 60 boys, as we have continued to grow since our original charter in 1998 with 12 scouts. The troop's success is due largely in part to our active parent participation. Currently we have nearly 50 registerred adult members of the troop.

In the 2010 charter year the scouts in Troop 997:

Had 1650 nights of camping;
Had 518 hiking miles;
Had 321 canoeing miles;
Contributed 686 hours of community service;
Earned 159 merit badges in 40 different areas;
Earned 61 rank advancements from Scout to Eagle;
Celebrated 6 new Eagle scouts;
Welcomed 12 new Weblos into Boy Scouts;
Sent two crews to the Northern Tier High Adventure Base;
Sent scouts to Camp Ottari Base Camp, Claytor Lake Acquatics Base, and Mountain Man summer camp programs at the Blue Ridge Mountain Scout Reservation; and
Delivered over 6,600 bags of mulch to fund troop operations and contribute towards scout's summer camp and high adventure fees.
