Troop 997 Summer Camp

The troop traditionally spends summer camp at the Blue Ridge Mountains Scout Reservation near Roanoke, Virginia. BRMSR is the largest council owned scout reservation in the United States, smaller only than the Philmont Scout Ranch BSA National High Adventure Base. The 16,000 acre reservation offers a wealth of camp opportunities from the newest scout to the oldest scouts looking for high adventure. The troop generally sends scouts to several of the available programs, which include:

• Camp Powhatan Merit Badge Base Camp,
• Camp Ottari Merit Badge Base Camp,
• New River Adventure,
• High Knoll Trail,
• Fish Camp,
• Voyageur Trek,
• Mountain Man Outpost,
• Brownsea Island Adventure, and
• Claytor Lake Aquatics Base.
